Put the romance of the mountains in your pocket
At 5:30 in the morning, I opened the door wrapped in a thick down jacket borrowed free of charge by the hotel. The whole Mount Huangshan Mountain was still immersed in the light blue morning fog. A few steps away, the welcoming pine was standing in the morning light, and the dew of last night was on the pine branches - this was the first morning I stayed in Huangshan Yupinglou Hotel, and also the most memorable mountaintop moment in my life.
The day before, after climbing the mountain for six hours, I dragged my lead filled leg and finally touched the Yuping Scenic Area, almost rushing into the hotel gate. Originally, I was prepared for the harsh accommodation conditions on the top of the mountain, but when I opened the door, I was stunned: there was no sense of cramped crowding, the small tea table near the window was facing the silhouette of the welcoming pine, and a small basin of local Mount Huangshan wild chrysanthemums was also placed on the windowsill. The wind came in from the colt, with the fresh and moist smell of pine needles and clouds, and the fatigue accumulated along the way was relieved for the most part.
Putting down my luggage, I realized that this hotel, built on the edge of a cliff, has quietly patched up all the pain points of staying on the mountaintop. 24-hour stable supply of hot water, taking a hot shower after climbing the mountain, even the tight muscles in my calves soften; The electric blanket in the room warmed up the bed in advance, and on a deep autumn mountain night, I crawled in without the expected wet and cold feeling. I borrowed a hiking stick and a warm baby from the front desk, and the staff specially gave me a handwritten tip, indicating a niche spot nearby for watching the sunset, saying, "Don't squeeze into the crowd, walk 200 meters towards the Hundred Steps Cloud Ladder for a wider view.
In the evening, I followed the prompts and walked towards that direction. As expected, I stood on an unmanned observation deck, watching the orange red sunset dye the sea of clouds into molten gold, and the silhouette of the welcoming pine embedded in the horizon, even slowing down the wind. Back in the restaurant of the hotel, the hot Mount Huangshan Bamboo Shoots and Clothes Noodles are waiting for me. I have to drink two mouthfuls of fresh soup. A mouthful of hot food cooked at the top of the mountain is more satisfying than any big meal at the foot of the mountain. Lying in bed at night, the sound of pine trees outside the window echoed one after another, without the sound of cars below. The whole person sank into the breath of the mountain and slept until dawn.
The most surprising thing was the next morning, without having to rush to the cableway, climb the mountain in the dark, or wait for sunrise in the cold wind. I wrapped myself in a down jacket and walked to the hotel's exclusive observation deck, watching as the sun gradually gilded the pine needles of the welcoming pine. By the time the group of tourists surged up, I had already leisurely taken a panoramic photo of no one competing for a spot.
I used to think that coming to Mount Huangshan was just to "see the scenery on the way". I didn't understand until I checked in Huangshan Yupinglou Hotel. This time when I climbed Mount Huangshan Mountain, I gritted my teeth and ordered the Huangshan Yupinglou Hotel on the top of the mountain so that I could stay next to Greeting Pine for one night without having to rush down the mountain at night. When I dragged my tired legs to Yuping Scenic Area and looked up to see the hotel just behind the welcoming pine, I understood why everyone said that this was the best place to live on the top of Mount Huangshan Mountain.
When checking in, the front desk specifically reminded me that the hotel front desk is located on the 5th floor, and the balcony of the observation room faces the welcoming pine. At the moment of opening the door, the sense of soreness on the way up instantly disappeared: the whole french window framed the panorama of the welcoming pine into a natural picture frame. Standing by the window and reaching out, you can almost touch the mountain wind leaking from the pine branches. The layout of the room had no redundant fancy decorations, and the fluffiness of the bedding was just enough to alleviate the soreness of climbing. I threw my hiking bag into the corner and collapsed directly on the bed, even the sound of pine waves outside the window became the best white noise.
What surprised me the most was that the mountaintop had such solid facilities. Many people say that the accommodation conditions on the mountaintop are difficult, but Yuping Tower completely broke my stereotype. The hot water supply in the bathroom is stable. After climbing the mountain for six or seven hours, taking a warm bath can even relieve the soreness and bloating in the legs and stomach. The buffet in the evening is more diversified than expected. Hot dishes, Noodles in soup, and Mount Huangshan bamboo shoots with local characteristics are all on the table. You can eat a mouthful of hot home dishes on the top of the mountain, which is more satisfying than the big meal at the foot of the mountain.
I checked the sunset time in advance and walked to the hotel's observation deck at exactly 6pm in the evening. There was no need to squeeze on the crowded roadside. Standing on the exclusive platform, I could watch the sunset dye the opposite Tian Du Peak golden red, and the sea of clouds slowly rolled over along the mountain pass. The guests around me all held their cameras quietly, and even the wind slowed down. That was the most healing ten minutes of my whole climb of Mount Huangshan Mountain.
The parent-child facilities in the hotel are particularly thoughtful. Friends who are traveling with children bring their own children, and the front desk provides free children's non slip slippers and hot milk before bedtime. Even the jackets that children get dirty while climbing can be easily dried by the staff. The next morning, there was no need to wake up early to catch the cable car. Pushing open the door, I could see the sunrise painting the pine needles of the Welcome Pine with a golden edge. Even before the flow of tourists surged up, I had already taken a panoramic photo of the Welcome Pine at the observation deck where no one was competing for a spot.
Previously, I always thought that the accommodation at the top of the mountain was just to "make do for one night and wait for sunrise", but Huangshan Yupinglou Hotel sent the core romance of Mount Huangshan directly to the guest's pillow. Sleeping all night with Matsu and waiting for a sunrise beside the welcoming pines is the most worthwhile experience to come to Mount Huangshan.
